Purple House is conceived as an iconic corporate building for Grant Thornton in Sector 18, Gurugram, on a highly visible site along NH-8. Positioned at one of the principal gateways into the NCR, with direct airport connectivity and access to MG Road Metro Station, the project derives its significance from exposure, movement, and recall. The design builds on this prominence by shaping the building as a distinctive workplace address that is legible from the highway while remaining closely attuned to the climatic demands and spatial constraints of its site.

The planning is organised as a slim office tower rising above a basement and three levels of MLCP parking, with a generous shaded arrival at ground level and office floors stacked above. The service core is placed along the west and south-west edge to buffer the harsher solar exposure, allowing the primary workspaces to open towards the north and east for better daylight, reduced heat gain, and clearer outward views. Floorplates remain efficient and relatively shallow, ensuring a high proportion of naturally lit work areas. Separate entries for basement and MLCP access, together with a clearly articulated drop-off sequence, support a smooth transition from arrival to workplace.

A defining feature of the project is its stepped vertical composition. Recessed floors create landscaped terraces that function as thermal buffers, outdoor workspaces, and informal social spill-outs, extending the life of the workplace into the open air while softening the tower’s mass. At the uppermost level, the stepped roof becomes a communal space visible from the highway, reinforcing the building’s identity at the urban scale. This architectural language is further sharpened by purple vertical fins derived from Grant Thornton’s brand palette, giving the tower a silhouette that is both expressive and performative. Purple House ultimately brings visibility, efficiency, climatic intelligence, and brand presence into a single architectural idea, producing a workplace that is as recognisable in the city as it is considered in use.
