Pune
YOO One is situated in Mohammed Wadi, Pune, on a site that rises above its surroundings and opens onto expansive green views. Framed by the Anand Van 4 forest to the north and east, and by lower-rise residential fabric to the south and west, the project derives its identity from this charged meeting of city and landscape. A narrow entrance gives way to a broader site oriented toward the forest, allowing the development to turn outward to distant views while establishing a more sheltered and inwardly coherent community realm.
The planning is shaped by climate, topography, and the imperative to integrate seamlessly with an existing development. At its centre, a landscaped recreational ground is conceived as a shared neighbourhood commons for both the new and existing buildings, drawing the presence of the forest into the heart of the project. The built form is organised as a series of connected residential towers aligned to the geometry of the site, with expansion joints enabling phased growth and a centralised core system enhancing both structural efficiency and parking. The basement layout responds directly to the excavated terrain, maximising parking capacity while maintaining continuity of access with the existing complex.
The residential planning places particular emphasis on daylight, ventilation, privacy, and adaptability. Apartments are oriented to capture the primary forest views and avoid inward-looking conditions, while deep decks and larger planted pockets act as thermal buffers between interior and exterior. The façade, articulated through vertical slits and a more streamlined massing, gives the towers a slender and composed profile. Above, the roof is transformed into an elevated social landscape, where club amenities, a pool, restaurant, bar, and lounge are set within nearly an acre of terrace greens. Together, these strategies shape a high-rise residential development that balances environmental responsiveness, view-led planning, and a strong sense of neighbourhood within a compact site at the forest’s edge.
