Pune
Conceived as a contemporary multi-generational family residence in the heart of Pune, Pristine House is designed as a private sanctuary where architecture, landscape, and family life unfold as a seamless continuum. Located along the tree-lined Range Hill Road precinct, the residence responds sensitively to its urban context while creating an inward-looking oasis that prioritizes privacy, wellbeing, and collective living.
The design is anchored around a central sunken court envisioned as the emotional and climatic heart of the home. Recessed and layered built volumes gently recede around this landscaped oasis, allowing light, air, water, and greenery to permeate deep into the residence. A bridge connecting the arrival court to the main house frames expansive views towards the sunken landscape and party lawns, transforming movement through the home into a spatial experience.
Guided by principles of Vaastu and climate-responsive planning, the residence maximizes north light while shielding the harsh western sun through deep verandahs, recessed balconies, vertical fins, and layered façade walls. Existing peripheral trees are retained to act as natural sound and visual buffers, while the sculpted built form channels prevailing westerly winds to create cooler microclimatic conditions across indoor and outdoor spaces.
The programme balances grand formal entertaining spaces with intimate family-oriented environments. Expansive living and dining areas spill into landscaped lawns designed to host large gatherings, while wellness-focused spaces including a gym, spa, pool, entertainment lounge, and shaded terraces foster everyday recreation and retreat. Materially, the home adopts a restrained palette of stone, textured surfaces, and muted finishes that foreground the sculptural quality of the architecture while reinforcing a sense of warmth, permanence, and calm.
